About the Signe Summer Dress and Top
The Signe summer dress and top will take you from relaxed days at the beach and city sightseeing walks, through summer evening restaurant visits and to the informal afternoon wedding.
It all depends on the length of the garment and the fabric choice!
I like to wear my maxi length dress with flip-flops for longer walks (the flip flops hidden by the skirt), but it’s so elegant with heels or sandals. And when the evening gets chilly, just put on a beautiful close-fitted cardigan or an elegant wrap.
This close-fitting knit halterneck top or dress – in top length, knee length or maxi length – has a self-fabric lined front bodice. It’s easy and fast to sew and looks great.

Fitting Tips
Choose your pattern size based on your bust measurements. You can customize the fit of the dress around your waist and hips, by either merging different sizes or by adding to the side seams.
BUST FITTING: For very large busts, consider doing an easy bust alteration, so the empire seam is under the bust, by simply lengthening the bodice of the dress. Spread and insert paper, as shown in the drawing. Remember to lengthen the back piece the same amount:
To lengthen the bodice for the Signe dress to make room for a large bust, simply cut and spread the bodice and the back an equal amount
Delivery
The pattern is a .PDF download, which you will be able to download right after ordering. You’ll need a recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (get it for free HERE) installed on your computer.
Save the pattern to your computer and open the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader before you print. Browsers sometimes print inaccurately.
Once the order is complete, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with links to the downloads (check your spam filter if you don’t see it within 5 minutes). Then you can download and print the pattern on your home printer (A4 or Letter) and quickly assemble it following the instructions included in the instructions. You can also bring your A0/copyshop file to be printed at your local copy shop or online
Recommended Fabric
Signe Halterneck Dress & Top was designed for with knit fabrics containing elastane (often called by brand names Lycra or Spandex) to give it 25 % stretch. My versions of the top and dress were all sewn using cotton or viscose jersey with about 5-8 % elastane.
The fabric requirement chart below is a guesstimate. How much fabric you need for your top or dress depends on a lot of things: Your size and alterations, if you make any design changes, how long you make the dress, the width of your fabric and if your fabric has direction.
